FlexiSAF Foundation Held it’s Official Launch & Fundraiser in Grand Style on 1st December 2018, at International Conference Center, Abuja.
Last night (1st Dec 2018) marked a huge milestone for the entire FlexiSAF team.
A cause dear to all of our hearts and minds – FlexiSAF Foundation – was officially launched to the general public, after nearly 12 months of operations.
FlexiSAF Foundation is dedicated to reducing the shocking statistics on out of school kids in Nigeria.
The foundation launch was graced with support from Aisha Buhari Foundation, Connected Development (CODE), Lovatt Foundation, Aisha Lemu Learning Initiative (ALLI) and other partners. It was a great night indeed, hosted by popular Abuja radio presenter and compere, Moses ‘Big Mo’ Nwokedi of Wazobia FM.
The ambiance was beautiful and relaxed, having in attendance a notable number of dignified individuals, unified by their passion and interest in moving the education sector forward in Nigeria.
This dream for the Foundation was born out of FlexiSAF Edusoft’s vision to impact education in a huge way. For those who may just be hearing the name, FlexiSAF Edusoft (Parent company of the Foundation) is an educational technology software company which provides innovative ICT Solutions to over 500 schools, 17 tertiary institutions and several educational bodies in Africa.
The company, founded 10 years ago, now employs over 70 staff with offices in 5 states across the country.
Deeper than all of these numbers, FlexiSAF – it’s founders and it’s staff – has always had a passion for community service. Being in the education sector for this long, FlexiSAF has witnessed first-hand most of the problems of education in the country, and always looked to give back every way we can. Through programs like our Kid Coders Summer Camp, Our Excursion series and Talk 2 Me campaign for Guidance and counselling, we have always in one way or the other striven to contribute our quota towards the sector we operate in.
But one of the problems that stood out undoubtedly is the shocking statistics on out of school kids in Nigeria – a huge problem and a ticking time bomb if nothing was done to address it. Thankfully, here at FlexiSAF we believe in solving big problems, albeit starting small. As Faiz Bashir, FlexiSAF Edusoft CEO says in his latest Medium post we knew that we just had to start from somewhere in dealing with this problem.

FlexiSAF Foundation’s short term goal is to reach up to 50,000 out of school children, and get them back to school by 2024.
Already, after just beginning activities in January 2018, the Foundation has made remarkable progress – with over 40 ‘adoptions’ in several states.
One of the great things about the journey has been the passion and commitment of FlexiSAF’s employees who joyfully volunteer their skills, man-power and time into the Foundation. This passion was especially noticeable on the evening of the launch as every individual rose to the occasion to make the night as interesting and successful as it was.
The turn-out was great from partners and supporters as well. The night was filled with inspiring talks from the likes of Nurudeen Lemu, Fiona Lovatt, Faiz Bashir, Ojonwa Miachi, Maryam Uwais and many more.
All in all It was a fantastic night, one which proved that there is yet a lot of hope for the future of this nation, if we can all keep working together to solve these big problems.
Like Nurudeen Lemu said on stage:
We might not be able to make this world heaven, but together, we can make it just a little bit less of hell for the less fortunate.
