OK.I trust you’ve been good? That’s great to hear. Let’s have another career gist.
In our introductory talk about Career Guidance, I quoted an expert saying career guidance should start at most by age 7. So, if age 7 is an ideal age to introduce our children to the concept of career guidance, and we’ve not done it till now, then what are we waiting for?
Let me have a quick guess, it just doesn’t make too much sense to you that a child as young as 7 can visualize their future. But then guess what? You are not alone in that. I felt so too, but not anymore because yes at age 7 according to Vanessa Moulton most Children have realistic future ambitions, and that’s a good enough sign that they are ready to be guided career-wise.
Not sure what to start with?
The next reason you’ve not started is..you are not sure what to start with, am I right? Waste not a second more! Introduce them to coding! Yes, that’s right coding as in computer programming. As Bill Gates, CEO of Microsoft rightly said
“Learning to write programs stretches your mind,
and helps you think better, creates a way of thinking
about things that I think is helpful in all domains.”
Notice Gates said in all domains. That means even if your child intends to be an artist, an engineer, a motivational speaker, an impactful teacher or he/she intends to fly an airplane, coding should be the first step for them because as the late Steve Jobs said “Everyone should learn to program a computer because it teaches you to think.”
Gates, Jobs and a lot of other experts had a lot to say on this. So, waste no time, the clock goes tick tick tick it waits for no one.
How to introduce them to Coding?
